General Requirements to Become a Real Estate Agent?
Step 1: Meet the state’s requirements as outlined on the New Jersey Real Estate Commission website.
They include:
• You must be 18 years old and above.
• You must have a high school diploma or its equivalent.
• You must Possess good character, trustworthiness, honesty, and integrity.
Step 2: Complete the required 75-hour pre-licensing course at an institution approved by the New Jersey Real Estate Commission.
Step 3: Register and pass the licensing exam by earning a score of 70% or high.
Step 4: You submit your fingerprints and pass a criminal background check.

Step 6: Submit your application for a New Jersey real estate license.

What Comes After Completing The 75-Hour Online Course & Passing The Exam?
For The Real Estate Course:
Once you have passed the school test and are issued a pass certificate, you will need to do the following:
Pass a state test that is administered by PSI. The cost is $45. PSI has many locations statewide. More information can be found at https://candidate.psiexams.com/
Once you have passed the state test, you will be required to get your fingerprints. This done by indentogo and they have many locations in NJ. More information can be found at https://www.identogo.com/locations/new-jersey.

How many times can you take real estate exam in New Jersey?
New Jersey does not specify a limit on salesperson license exam retakes. Any retakes must be taken within your one-year eligibility window.
How Hard is it to Get Your Real Estate License?
In short, getting your real estate license doesn’t have to be difficult or overly complicated. Just understand the time and effort needed to:

How Long Does it Take to Become a Real Estate Agent?
It can vary from person to person depending on how fast or slow you can complete the required 75-hour Pre-licensing courses, but on average, it takes about 3–4 months to complete the process.
If you commit to a full-time schedule, you may be able to complete the course in 2 months.
You must also pass your licensing exam and complete the application process, finding a sponsoring broker, and the application processing times are also a factor.
